The downtown area of San Jose is filled with old stuff. Taking a walk on a sunny day can be a visual feast. There are some newer buildings, sure - but the character of the town is in its history. One of my favorite buildings is the San Jose Museum of Art. Half old, half new. What once was the Federal Post Office, partially destroyed by the 1906 earthquake, is now the front half of the museum. It currently houses a cafe, offices and meeting rooms. There's an effort underway to restore the building's tower, which I think is a good thing.
