Canon PowerShot S3 IS

A few weeks old, but worthy of adding to flower week. This tree is right around the corner from our house. It doesn't get a lot of blossoms - I don't know what kind of tree it is - and it never bears fruit. The flower is gorgeous, though.

Did you see First Flower on PBS last night? Beautifully filmed program about the search for the first flower on planet Earth. My favorite line was from David Dilcher, Paleobotanist, University of Florida: 'Flowers are all about sex, that's for sure.'

If you get a chance, watch it. It's only an hour long, but so very interesting.
